Data Elements

In order to understand research results, to compare studies amongst each other, or apply findings to an individual scenario, it is essential to establish key outcomes and data elements that need to be measured and reported in DCM research.

An outcome is a disease feature measured to assess its impact, for instance following a treatment. A common example would be walking or neck pain. A data element is a different disease feature, important to interpret outcomes. A common example would be age or biological gender.

The Core Outcome Set (COS) will be established based on systematic reviews, qualitative interviews, Delphi process, and a final face-to face consensus meeting. The results will be announced at the Global Spine Congress in 2021 and published here.
