Member Representative

Are you a leader in spine surgery? Would you like to become a member of the AO Spine International Board (AOSIB)? Then this is your opportunity!

On behalf of the AO Spine International Board, we are pleased to announce the call for applications for the Member Representative.

Term

The Member Representative will serve for two years—one year with member elect status (guest without voting rights), and one year as a full member of the AOSIB with voting rights. 

Eligibility

All AO Spine members who have been a continuous member for a minimum of 4 years are eligible to apply. In addition to being an outstanding, internationally recognized spine surgeon, the eligible candidates must already have shown their commitment to AO Spine, be passionate about developing AO Spine and willing to devote a significant amount of time and travel to this function. Current and Past Members of the AO Spine International Board are not eligible to run for this position. 

Current Members of an AO Spine Regional Board or Global Commission are not eligible to run for this position.

Election process

 

All who wish to stand for the AO Spine Member Representative position are required to submit their application to the AO Spine International office via e-mail by Thursday, February 28th, 2019.

The application should consist of:

• Your CV, using the template available to download here
• A short personal summary of 100 words  
• Your motivational brief, using the template available to download here 
•  Your portrait picture

All approved candidates have to be registered participants of the Global Spine Congress Toronto 2019 and be present during the election procedure.

The Member Representative will be democratically elected by all voting members of AO Spine who attend the Global Spine Congress in Toronto. All (present) AO Spine Voting members will have one vote, to be cast anonymously via the electronic voting system.

The winning candidate will need to get the majority of the casted votes.

Electorate

This is a unique leadership position that will be democratically elected by all voting members of AO Spine who attend the Global Spine Congress 2019 in Toronto.

All AO Spine Members who have been members for three years, as well as all new AO Spine members who have signed up for at least three years in 2019 are eligible to vote.

If you want to run for the Member Representative position, encourage all your member friends to come and all your non-member friends to join AO Spine and come to the Global Spine Congress and vote for you.
