Asia Pacific Researcher Awards—New Regional Research Projects 2018

To encourage young researchers in the field of spinal care and to support their work, AOSpine Asia Pacific (AOSAP) recently organized a call for regional submissions projects.

A total of 13 regional proposals were received. After two rounds of blinded evaluations, the following three projects were awarded:

  • Predictive factors for successful conservative management to avoid surgery in adult deformity, Jason Cheung, Hong Kong
  • Japanese Orthopaedic Association Cervical Myelopathy Evaluation Questionnaire (JOACMEQ) for ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) patients in East Asia: An investigation of reliability, validity and responsiveness, Feifei Zhou, China
  • Genomic profiling of vertebral metastases in Indian population and their clinical association with the candidate genes, Ketan Khurjekar, India
