Dino Samartzis is the new AO PEER Taskforce member for AO Spine

It gives us great pleasure to congratulate Dino Samartzis on being elected as the new Taskforce member to represent AO Spine in the AO Program for Education and Excellence in Research (AO PEER). In this position, Samartzis follows Asdrubal Falavigna, starting January 1, 2021.

Currently, Samartzis is the AO Spine Research Commission Chairperson and has been leading several impactful studies for AO Spine, on hot topics such as Telemedicine and the impact that the COVID-19 virus has had on healthcare professionals worldwide, and educational platforms addressing artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Samartzis has been involved in spine research and education for more than two decades. He is an ambassador for high-quality meaningful research and scientific ethics, advocating a multidisciplinary approach, global collaborations, and "team science".

"This is my true passion in life," Samartzis says, as always, commending his colleagues and AO Spine members across the world. "I have been fortunate to have worked with extremely talented and inspirational people around the world."

In his new role, Samartzis will give strategic scientific advice and guidance to the AO PEER program, represent the research strategy of AO Spine, and act as a communication link between the AO PEER Taskforce and the AO Spine Research Commission. We wish Dino Samartzis success in his new role and look forward to supporting him his future endeavors.
