Welcoming the new AO Spine council members in Austria
15 December 2020
AO Spine country council members provide numerous opportunities for local members and contribute significantly to the development of the organization.
We are delighted to announce the election of three new country council members in Austria who start their 3-year term of office on January 1, 2021. We wish them all the best in their endeavors.
Gholam Pajenda (Chairperson), Sebastian Hartmann (Officer Neurosurgery) and Christoph Stihsen (Officer Orthopedics) will now be involved in shaping the future of AO Spine in Austria.
Gholam emphasizes that “AO Spine Austria offers a vast number of activities to advance education and provides a broader work dynamic for colleagues who are interested in spine surgery. I intend to continue this successful activity and gratefully acknowledge your support”.
Sebastian focuses on improving education through AO Spine's global network. “Surgical education and training thrive on the exchange of theoretical knowledge and interactive practical courses among colleagues. The AO community is the perfect foundation for learning, sharing knowledge and meeting new colleagues with different perspectives”.
Christoph enthusiastically expresses: “I am delighted to share my experience with younger colleagues and aspire to increase the presence of Austrians on the international stage through fellowship programs and scientific expertise”.
We thank Gholam Pajenda for his contribution as Officer Orthopedics and we wish him nothing but the best in his new role as Chairperson.
Lastly, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude the current council members Sven Ziegler (Chairperson) and Pujan Kavakebi (Officer Neurosurgery) for their hard work and contributions to AO Spine. We hope they will remain engaged in our community and we wish them every success in their future ventures.
