At the AO Spine North America Board retreat earlier this year, the AO SNA Board decided to open a new two-year at-large position on the AO SNA Board. This position would be filled by an individual that could provide the Board a strong voice on gender representation in spine, as well as grow our presence amongst neurosurgeons.

Access and our various diversity initiatives are of high importance for the AO Foundation and AO Spine International. The AO SNA Board position was recently sanctioned by the AO Spine International Board, and we are pleased to announce that Michelle Clarke has agreed to fill the position.

Clarke is the Program Chairperson of neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic and is also pursuing her Master of Education with a focus on contemporary medical education paradigms. She has a proven history with AO SNA as a faculty educator, course chair, and has most recently served on the Education Committee. She is also an Associate Member of the AO Spine Knowledge Forum Tumor and active in our research programs.

This is an important step for AO Spine North America and all AO Spine. Please join us in welcoming Michelle to the Board.
